In the holidays we had an earthquake in Melbourne. I wonder what you were doing at the time?
This link will take you to a documentary about our 'Fierce Earth' and explain in detail why we have earthquakes.
Please watch it and then have a think about how you could design a piece of equipment that would measure the movements in the earth's crust.
What equipment or materials would you use? You can draw up your ideas with pictures and labels on A4 paper. See you soon,

Welcome back, I hope you all had some fun on the holidays. I have made a set of slides for your science work for this week and next week, the task is right at the end of the slides so you will need to read though to find out your task.
A while back I sent through a link to the webcam of the Peregrine Falcons at 367 Collins St, Melbourne. They hatched last week, there are now three chicks in the nest. If you google 367 Collins Falcons you may be able to see them (if the parent leaves the nest for you).
